The Staff and Students of Modern Early Years, Vasundhara celebrated their second Annual Day on Saturday, 15th December,2018 at The Modern School, Rajnagar Ext. Ghaziabad.
The Chief Guest, Social Activist, Ms. Nilam Katara and Distinguished Guests Ms. Neelam Puri- the Academic Director of The Modern School, Ms. Priyanka Gupta- Project Executive, Board of Trustees, Ms. Rimpy Verma – Headmistress, The Modern School ECNCR and Ms. Rachna Agrawal – Principal, The Modern School, Rajnagar Ext. graced the occasion with their benign presence. The proceedings started with the customary lighting of the lamp, accompanied with the hymn ‘Make me a channel of your peace’.
The Guests were welcomed with potted plants and given in-house prepared paintings as mementos.
Ms. Manju Mehra, Branch Head, Modern Early Years,Vasundhara, introduced Ms Katara to the august gathering and presented the Annual School Report starting with her emphatic statement :
‘Coming together is a beginning , keeping together is progress and working together is success.’
She elaborated on the wide array of events held at the Vasundhara Branch for the Academic Session April-November 2018, the Orientation Programme for the parents of the new entrants ,the Parenting Session by the Guest Speaker Dr.Jitendra Nagpal, Pursuit of Academic Excellence, Assemblies on Important days and Values, Book Exhibitions by notable Publishers, Teacher-Training Sessions , Celebrations, Summer Camp, the House system and its related events, Children’s day, Independence day, Olympiads & Sports Activities.
She congratulated the students who had brought glory to themselves and their alma mater :
Roller Skating- Aishani Verma, Advik Srivastava, Anshuman, Atharv Dabas & Sanidhya Sinha
Drawing Competition- Monica Gambhir, Arshit Chauhan, Aadi Jain and Diya Singh. She also thanked the Parents for their generous contribution to the School towards the Social Cause, ‘Goonj’.
In her concluding address, she thanked Shri. Ashok Pratap Singh, Sr. Member Board of Trustees, Modern School, Ms. Ambika Pant–Chairperson and Ms. Neelam Puri for their support and guidance and also the parents for reposing trust and confidence in MODERN. Quoting Carl Bard she said; ‘Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.’
Ms. Katara was presented with the first issue of the School Magazine ‘Shikhar’ and thereafter invited to address everyone.

Christmas is sharing, caring, preparing and love and about spending time with family.

The students, presented an adaptation of the Play ‘A Christmas Carol’ – a story by the famous novelist Charles Dickens with a musical twirl. Ms. Mehra’s powerful introduction and synopsis set the mood of the Play. Kavish Baheti (P2) played the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, Hardik Ghanshani (P1-A) as Scrooge’s nephew, Atharv Dabas (P2) as Bob Crachit, Chaitanya Singh (P2) as Mrs. Crachit, Atharv Mishra (P1-C) as Marley’s Ghost, Anshuman Kumar (P1-C) as the Ghost of the Christmas Past, Aarush Rawat (P2) as the Ghost of Christmas Present and Aadi Jain (P2) as the Ghost of Christmas Future. The play was aptly interspersed with peppy Christmas numbers and dances such as the opening dance – The First Noel, Deck the halls, Somewhere My Love, Candle dance-Silent night holy night, Joy to the world, Somewhere in my memory, I’m alive etc. The play emphasised on the popular message about Christmas, as a celebration of hope and generosity, a time of the year where everyone should rejoice and be happy.
Ms. Anuja extended the vote of thanks. She thanked the Chief Guest Mrs. Nilam Katara for finding time from her busy schedule and gracing the occasion .She acknowledged the hard work of the team behind the stupendous show:

Ms. Shalini Shukla for her contribution towards the display boards and in house paintings which were given as mementos and for preparing the props.

A very special mention was made of the Honourable Branch Head- Ms. Manju Mehra for being an epitome of strength . a great pillar of support and for being the force behind the concept and script of the show.
Ms. Mehra then accompanied Ms. Katara, Ms. Puri, Ms. Gupta, Ms. Verma and Ms. Agrawal to the School auditorium to inaugurate the Christmas Craft display.
The programme ended with the quote that summed up the hard-work of both the teachers & students of Modern Early Years, Vasundhara.
