On 6thOctober, 2017 students of Class P2, accompanied by their Teachers visited Raj Ghat and Gandhi Memorial Museum. The endeavour was to make the little ones aware about Mahatma Gandhi’s simple lifestyle and give them an insight into the morals and values which he has left behind as a rich legacy for humanity. The children visited Raj Ghat and paid tribute to Gandhi ji at his Samadhi. They took a round of the sprawling lawns and picnicked thereafter. Children were given a platform for free expression and made beautiful sketches under the able guidance of their Art Teacher. They also went to the Gandhi Memorial Museum to learn about his life and principles. They saw the books which he loved to read, including his Autobiography ‘My Experiments with Truth’, personal belongings , charkha and several things related to his life .They also saw the pictures of his childhood days, movements he started and pictures of the freedom struggle against the Britishers as he fought without violence. It was truly a great learning and fun-filled experience for the children. They returned enriched, having gained a lot of information from this so called class-room without walls and the visit also instilled in them the important value of ‘Truth and Honesty’ as stated by Babu himself ‘There is no God higher than truth’.
