It is a well known fact, that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. The psychological and physical impacts of exercises and sports cannot be debated and we at Modern believe in an all round development of our little ones and that happy children are those who have a healthy mix of play and studies. Modern Early Years, Vasundhara, organised its Sports Jamboree on Saturday, 16th February, 2019 at The Modern School, Raj Nagar Ext. Gzb, with the objective of increasing the strength, skill, coordination and overall fitness of its students.

The Chief Guest – Mr.Rajat Bhatia, former IPL and First Class Ranji Cricket Player with Mrs.Bhatia, the Guest of Honour – Shri Ashok Pratap Singh – Sr. Member Board of Trustees, Modern School and Dr.Amit Gupta- Trustee Modern School, Ghaziabad graced the occasion with their benign presence .

The Branch Head, Mrs. Manju Mehra addressing the august gathering, introduced the Chief Guest Mr.Rajat Bhatia as, a passionate and fearless player who by his sheer talent and undaunted dedication had broken and made several records during the journey of his cricket career . She stated that, at Modern School, Sports is closely intertwined with academics & extracurricular activities and offers the students a wide spectrum of opportunities.

Shri. Ashok Pratap Singh, addressed the gathering and motivated the students to put their best foot forward.

Mr.Bhatia,also an alumini of Modern School , in his address encouraged students to follow their aspirations and dream big.

Atharv Dabas and Pratyaksha Tyagi of Class P2 extended a gracious and warm welcome on behalf of the students of Modern Early Years, Vasundhara, along with one student representative from each house, taking the pledge, to play the game fairly and in the glory and honour of sportsmanship.

The event began with a welcome song ‘I have a Dream, a song to sing’ sung by P1 & P2 students under the guidance of the Music Teacher. The distinguished guests felicitated the Sports Teachers and Coordinators, as well as the Sports Enthusiasts with bouquets and miniature trophies respectively. Thereafter Mr.Bhatia declared the meet open, as the Nursery and KG students released the colourful balloons into the air. The school playground rimmed with the school, house flags and balloons, provided a befitting ambience. It was a indeed a day fit with fervour and exhilaration amidst thrills and cheers.

All the students from classes Nursery to P2 participated in a variety of items such as, drills like Aerobics, Gymnastics, Scottish Drill, Taekwondo and Mass P.T, Races – Rabbit Race, Frog Race, Let’s get Ready Race, Lemon and Spoon Race, Three-legged Race, Obstacle Race, Inter house Relay and Tug of War, to name a few….and a Closing Dance-Kalbeliya .

& Tug of War – Vikram Sarbhai House.
