SUMMER CAMP 2018-1914th May to 26th May, 2018

Summer is filled with breaking rules and standing apart,
ignoring your head and following your heart.

To bring out the innate talents in our stupendous students, The Modern School, Raj Nagar, organized an enthralling and instructive Summer Camp from 14th of May 2018 to 26th May 2018.The students enthusiastically participated in the Summer Camp 2018-19 and honed their skills in music, dance, dramatics, science and technology, art and craft. The summer camp aptly catered to the inclination and engrossment of our students. Each activity enlisted was tailor made by our sedulous staff to suit the interest of our scholars.

The glazing and scorching heat of the sun was not an escape for our young Modernites who were full of enthusiasm, fervor, determination and excited for the ‘SUMMER CAMP 2018’. The much awaited fun-filled summer camp embarked on the 14th of May 2018 where all the students from classes Nursery to S3 participated with full zest and vigor. The enthusiastic, robust and exhilarated Modernites were all set to beat the heat and showcase their hidden potential to the world. During the course of ten days of the summer camp our students vigorously participated in sports like badminton, basket ball, volley ball and tennis, base ball, Indo-Western dance, vocal and instrumental music, art and craft and theatre. As the days passed the perfection and zeal of the students was highly admirable and commendable.

But as the word goes, ‘All good things must come to an end’! The creativity, hard work and determination of our students were bold and loud, as they portrayed their creations on the 26th of May 2018 on the Show Case Day. The audience was awestruck and spell bound as the students carried the vision of a creative master. The exhibits initiated by our highly talented Modernites left the audience mesmerized and excited.

As the spectators moved towards the auditorium, they were equally eager, enthusiastic and excited as our young performers. The program started with the lighting of the lamp and a melodious enchanting of the Gayatri Mantra.

‘What we learn with pleasure, we never forget. ‘The students of classes P1 to P3 shouldered the responsibility of educating their elders about the usage of Mobile Phone. The mime presentation by our veterans focused on the ill effects of Mobile Phones on our relations, health and mental status.

Learning is pleasurable but doing is the height of enjoyment. Complicated theories can be made simple and understandable by providing the scope of learning by doing. The next presentation by our young scientists explained the scientific phenomena of rotation, revolution, solar and lunar eclipse. The highly motivated Junior Einstein’s explained the scientific facts in their simplest form.

‘Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul’. The next performance in line was presented by our budding singers of P4 to S3.They presented the heart touching song ‘Faded’ to present the wonderful song ‘Faded’ and bedazzled the audience with their melodious live performance.

‘Dancing is a perpendicular expression of a horizontal desire’. Dance is a conversation between body and soul. It was the turn of our splendid dancers who portrayed their passion and desire by dancing to the beats of an Indo-western number and made the audience dance to their tunes.

‘Dancing is like dreaming with your feet’. The tiny tots dreamt big and conquered the world by their graceful rhythmic steps. The next presentation by our energetic dancers of Nursery and K.G. was amazingly superb as the youngest members of the Modern Family twisted and shook on their favorite foot tapping number.

In today’s fast evolving world, life without technology seems back dated and obsolete. The outgrowing number of social media sites and our techno based new found relations have actually done great damage to our emotional and sentimental world. The advancement in technology has enrooted us to a new dawn of connectivity, but, at the cost of our dignity, individuality and privacy. Our next performance by the actors of P4-S3 portrayed the ordeal of a young girl, stuck in the custody of social media and the betrayal faced by her. The plight of her mind and her parents’ hardship in bringing their child out of the traumatic situation was a lesson that required to be learnt by the audience.

What better way to celebrate vacations then putting on your skates and skidding and sliding effortlessly .The next presentation in queue was the special mind blowing performance by our talented skaters Akshat and Lakshay who decided to continue practicing and performing throughout the summer camp to hone their skating skills.

As we paced on to our next line – up, the nightingales of Classes P1 ,P2 and P3 struck the right chord by caroling the song ‘We want to say to you’ in their impressive style. The love and passion showcased by our compassionate singers was highly commendable.

The loud resonance and exuberance coming from the side wing made everybody wonder as the audience became apprehensive and appeared elated as the Fusion Stars desperately rock and rolled in desi style. The laudatory audience was flabbergasted by the polished moves as they went on a congenial ride with our Fusion Masters.

Our Modernite parents equally adored and cherished the tireless efforts of our budding and aspiring artists along with their diligent mentors. The journey neither began nor ended there as our kids toiled towards a propitious future.

Good byes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean we will miss you until we meet again. Words fell short as our reverend Principal, Mrs. Roy congratulated and motivated our budding veterans with her inspirational words and promised the audience for more speculative and mesmerizing performances by our doting Modernites. As we proceeded towards the finale the summer camp participant echoed the motivational School Song and stimulated and revived our spirits with its strong message ‘Face demanding times with valiant smiles’.

After the refreshments, the parents moved towards the quadrangle area where a live band comprising of our talented rock raised our spirits high. The consummate and excellent performance of our rock stars fetched a gigantic round of applause as they caroled the song ‘Alone’. Our skaters glided swiftly across the quadrangle biding good bye and wishing an adventurous summer vacation to all.

The Science Club students tirelessly explained the working models of Vacuum Cleaner, Air cooler, Electric generator, helicopter, motor cycle and water dispenser. The electroscope, electro magnet and solar cooker were a great hit among the spectators. The motor boat, robotic hand, pot in pot refrigerator and Kaleidoscope were the most appreciated working models of the day. The spectators were awestruck by the amazing ideas and the praiseworthy assembling and working of the science models.

The audience couldn’t get enough of the Art and Craft exhibits prepared by our aspiring creative teams of Classes Nursery to S3. The mind blowing blow painting, thread painting, expressive face art and several other uncountable creations just mesmerized the spectators. The craft work ranged from animal figures, humongous trees, glass painting, T-shirt painting and hanging lanterns. The enthusiasm and content of the students was beyond words as they proudly shared their creativity with their parents and friends.

We at Modern School leave no stone unturned when it comes to showcasing our talents and thus our audience always departs with joyful and unforgettable memories. Let’s keep the viewers waiting till we reopen on 2nd July 2018, for another spectacular and out of the world performance.
