Smiling is Fun with Healthy Teeth and Gums

A Dental Check-up was conducted on November 18,2019 for the students of grade Nursery - S4 in The Modern School, Raj Nagar Extension, Ghaziabad by Dr. Urshita and the Team from ITS Muradnagar. 
On completion of the dental check- up, the students having dental ailmemts were given a report summary with the denture of the diagnosed problem and the recommended dental treatment plan.
Children understood the importance of oral hygiene and how a dazzling smile is important for a healthy life.
    While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about
    The Modern School, Raj Nagar Extension celebrated November 16, 2019, Children’s Day, which marks the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India – Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru with enthusiasm and zeal, keeping in mind his words, “I may not have time for adults, but I have enough time for children.”

    The celebration began with the teachers reciting the school prayer.
    The teachers took charge of the assembly to make the day unforgettable for the students. The names are as follows -

    English Thought- Ms Dimpika Suneja
    English News- Ms Chhavi Kumar
    Hindi Thought- Ms Renu Dhaiya
    Hindi News- Ms Preeti Sharma

    The Subject Teachers were called to give some values about their subject and enhance knowledge of the students by briefing about the same.
    Ms Ritu Kalia( Music Teacher) emphasized on how basically music affects life. It was an interactive session and Saanvi Tripathi from P3 said that music makes her happy."
    When asked about how pollution effects our health, Arahant of class S4 answered," It makes the vision blur.
    Avyaan from P1 answered," It is because of pollution that the schools were closed.
    Ms Goldy (Science Teacher) talked about what basically London Smog is.
    The discussion came to an end when students were asked ," How will you go green?"
    There were many answers by the students. Some of them are listed below.
    Dishika of class P5 said," Recycle Plastic and Paper."
    Om Sanwal of class S1 said,"Stop Burning Fire Crackers on Diwali."
    Vedant of class S1 said," Stop using and burning plastic."
    Jatin of class S1 said,"Stop burning fossil fuels."
    The school principal Mrs Rachna Agarwal blessed the children on this special day and saluting the spirit of childhood said that we should celebrate the spirit of child within us. She also said that perseverance is important and gave the certificates to the winners of the events such as, Spell-o-bee, Show and Tell, Hindi Hatsya Kavita, English Elocution, Food Fest and Science Exhibition.
    The highlight of the assembly was Aarush Rawat who has won laurels for the school in the National Shotokan Karato Championship.
    He has won Bronze Medal under 7 years in the KATA Event and Silver Medal in the Kumite Event.
    The children were thrilled and excited as they loved painting and stamping a colourful tattoo which was an activity by cutting a potato.
    A day marking childhood, Children’s Day celebration focused on children and their enjoyment.

      On 8th November'19 , the school inaugurated Madan Lal Cricket Academy wherein the students were informed about the rules of the game. Students were enthusiastic and eager to know more about cricket.They also had a trial session for the same. Moreover, they also understood that the key to success is preparation before every match. One needs to be prepared physically and mentally in the right spirit. Although it is vital to prepare well, one should not try too much, as it may backfire.

        The most important thing is to enjoy your life - to be happy - it's all that matters.

        The Modern School, Raj Nagar Extension organized an interactive session for the teachers on November 5, 2019 to comprehend how much they know and understand one another. The session was held by Ms Harjeet Kaur (Special Educator) and Ms  Bhumika Chawla ( Wellness Teacher). Teachers were asked to write three points ( 1 negative and 2 positive) about themselves and after collecting all the chits, those personality traits were read out by both the counselors. Teachers were asked to guess who that person was. It was a fruitful session as it gave the opportunity to know one another on a different level increasing the mutual respect among themselves. The session came to an end with a discussion on the need of physical and mental well being that helps a person to be happy from within. 

         

         

          "Sports teaches you character, it teaches you to play by the rules, it teaches you to know what it feels like to win and lose-it teaches you about life."  
          On 1st November'19 , the school inaugurated Anshul Garg Table Tennis Academy wherein the students had a highly smashing and motivating session in which they were exposed to the rules. Moreover, students were given opportunity to make an attempt for the same. Mr. Shuaib and his team from the Academy will coach the students to enhance their sportsmanship and other skills.
