Doctor’s Talk: 30.12.2021

Some great person rightly said, “The greatest wealth is health.”
The Modern School, Rajnagar organised a Doctor’s Talk on 30th December, 2021 wherein Dr Rahul Gupta, Gastroenterologist & a Modernite of the 1981 Batch emphasised on how Covid-19 has changed our lives & how we needed to adapt to it!
Focusing on how Mental and Physical health is important, Dr Rahul discussed the points to be kept in mind for us to lead a healthy life. He focussed on how one should follow a regular regime, take care of our nutrition,  how outdoor activities not possible these days for kids needed to be replaced by indoor participatory games. The pre bed time ritual was essential to be followed by everyone - reading, story telling etc. In his talk, he also emphasised upon the fact that how as a parent it is very important to understand the child and maintain a balance between eating healthy, not becoming obese and exercising daily. In conclusion Dr. Rahul said “If you want to improve your general well-being, you should take care of both your physical and mental health. You should respect your body, follow a rhythm, reduce screen time, learn to be innovative, communicate, relax, recharge yourself, be vocal, think positive, listen to music, be grateful, generate hope - not despair, have Me time, find time for Family Bonding & spread the spirit of togetherness."
A child centric, informative and insightful talk,  most relevant for both Parents & Students in these Covid times!

    ANNUAL DAY FUNCTION: 11.12.2021

“It is extremely difficult to find a parallel to this wonderful personality, Mira, a saint, a philosopher, a poet and a sage. She was a versatile genius and a magnanimous soul. Her life has a singular charm, with extraordinary beauty and marvel.” - Swami Sivananda

The Modern School, Ghaziabad ,  celebrated its Annual Day Function showcasing ‘MIRA’ on Saturday, 11th December, 2021 amidst great splendour, mirth and zest.
The event was also showcased online via zoom to kindle the spirit of togetherness despite the difficult times.
The Function was attended by the IPS officer of 2017 batch from the UP cadre, Mr Nipun Agrawal as the Hon’ble Chief Guest and by Dr Amit Gupta, the Chairman of the School .
The Programme commenced with the welcome of the guests followed by the lighting of the Ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest Mr Nipun Agrawal and Dr Amit Gupta accompanied by the School Principal, Ms Manju Mehra.
Mrs Mehra welcomed the guests and the gathering and shared the school’s achievements in her comprehensive & detailed  Annual Report of the year 2021. Meritorious students were given prizes for excellence in Performing Arts, General  proficiency and Co-curricular activities.
The Cultural Programme on ‘MIRA’ comprised of a Welcome Song, Introduction of the character Mira, dance performances, followed by the song- Payo Ji Maine beautifully sung by our students. The most popular songs of Mirabai speak of her unflinching love for Lord Krishna, attempts to poison her, the miraculous escape and her blissful merging with God. The dance performance on the song Vrandavan was full of devotion as the vibrantly clad students with their energetic foot tapping moves filled the air with the love portraying how Mira worshiped Lord Krishna in the form of the divine mountain-lifter ‘Giridhari’. The Annual Day function witnessed an assortment of dazzling musical renditions.
Dr Amit Gupta emphasised on the reality of life, how things that once were a luxury changed during the passage of time. Throughout time, with technology, higher learning, and new inventions have a tendency to change. Our roads, ways of life, and communities have changed over time. A small town that may have been productive may not be now because of the changes. From our studies we have learned about how farms, buildings, and transportation have changed into forgotten history. He also stated that he is hopeful and looking forward for the school to reach great heights in future. He further added that there will be various sports academies for the students in the coming months. He concluded by congratulating the Principal, teachers and staff for their hard work and dedication and carving a niche for themselves.
The Chief Guest Mr Nipun Agrawal in his address contended that progress of any state is reflection of the level and quality of its education. He said that Modern School is a school wherein students are excelling in all fields like sports & cultural aspects apart from academics. He extended his best wishes to all the students who are appearing for board examination.
