Mr. Tarun Rathi from VIMHANS, took a workshop with the students on 26 December 2019 at The Modern School, Raj Nagar Extension.

The topic of workshop was “Personality Development”. The students were asked questions like What do understand by personality, How to differentiate different personalities they encountered in their life like friends, teachers and parents, What all qualities do they like in them. What are the qualities in them that they don’t appreciate?

To which our students came up with beautiful answers. Aryan Shrivastavav(S-4) said “Helpful”, Anushka(S-3) said “Coperative”. For the personality they don’t like, Diva Dutta(S-2) said “Clever”. They were then elaborated on the concept of good and bad personalities. Famous personalities were shown and they were asked to describe their personality to clarify the concept.

Later, a guided imageryactivity was done and students were made aware of different parts of their personality. For example, they were taken on an imaginary tour of Garden. Our students came up with answers like “My field was endless(S-4), garden full of flowers and grass( Suzaine, S-2),big and grassy(Saanvi, S-3).The session was ended by having discussions and few tips on how to make a good personality.

    The Students were made to do energiser and were divided in 5 groups. A discussion on what they understand by “manners” was done. They came with prompt answers like “Respecting others” (Gyan, P-5), “do not tease”(Om, S-1), “do not lie”(Anushree, P-5). Later they were given chits of different situations to solve them in respectful manner. Each group voted for a volunteer to represent them and share their answers.The session was ended by giving solutions to each answer. The students collectively shared their perspective.One of the beautiful answer came from Dishika Arora(P-5), “If we won’t respect our elders and won’t follow their instructions, we won’t be successful”.

      The students were made to do energiser calming down activity following a discussion on “What is the importance of following instructions”. To which our students came up with answers like,“to be successful, we must follow instructions (Hashmitha,P-2)”,“because they are elder to us (Saujas, P-2)”,“we will get scolded if we won’t follow instructions (Vivaan, P-2)”,“help us to be mature (Prithavi, P-2)”, and  “makes things easy for us (Jayesh- P-3)”. The workshop ended with a promise by all to follow instructions of at least three elders in the upcoming week.

        Christmas is the perfect time to celebrate the love of God and to create memories that last forever. On 24th December, 2019, the festival of Christmas was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at The Modern School, RajNagar Extension, Ghaziabad. Spreading the message of sharing, love and joy the students sang a Carol- Joy to the World. A special assembly was put up by the students of Grade S2.
        The assembly was conducted by Suzain. A beautiful thought was given by Jhanvi Soti.
        To enrich the vocabulary of the students, Word of the day was given by Kshtij followed by the News headlines by Parth and Devesh.
        Ms Dimpika apprised everyone with the twelve day long tradition of Christmas and shared the background of the existence of Santa Claus.
        Our Nursery and KG angels danced to joyful tunes and created a happiness vibe amongst everyone.
        Addressing the school, the Principal, Mrs. Rachna Agarwal greeted everyone; she congratulated the students for putting up an incredible show. She gave the message of being happy and enjoying the Christmas days with family and friends. 
        She further exclaimed that Christmas is not a time or a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. Students were very happy to celebrate Christmas at school with their friends and teachers. The whole school was adorned with Christmas décororations- the Christmas tree, Santa Claus and folks dressed in red added to the merry spirit of Christmas.  

          A workshop was organized by the Counselor (Ms Bhumika Chawla) and Special education teacher (Ms Harjeet Kaur) on the topic "Women in Me" on 19th Dec 2019 at The Modern School Raj Nagar Extension.

          The participants for the workshop included girls from P5-S1. The objective of the workshop was to understand "Who is a woman?" and “Role of Woman”

          The activities were also organized to cater the objective and one of which was "Choose and perform" wherein participants had to choose from the displayed objects, think about it for one minute and perform for one minute. The objects included hoola hoops, tennis racket, ribbon sticks, face mask, balls, eccetra. A discussion, to understand the difference between being a girl and woman was done. While getting out of the room, Participants wrote on "My Strengths as a woman" which they had to paste on the Hand Imprinted Sheet.

            A workshop was organized by the Counselor (Ms Bhumika Chawla) and Special education teacher (Ms Harjeet Kaur) on the topic "Men in Me" on 19th Dec 2019 at The Modern School Raj Nagar Extension.

While getting out of the room, Participants wrote on "Perks of being a Man" which they had to paste on the Foot Imprinted Sheet.
              Sports not only keep children fit and agile, they also help in building leadership and comradery amongst students. We are living in a global village where we wish our children to be aware of the different cultures around the world. We at The Modern School, Raj Nagar extension ensure that our students get an experience of various such cultures. We had the privilege of inviting a leading professional baseball organization, Major League Baseball, which is also the oldest of the sports league in United States of American and Canada, to give our students a taste of the international game. On 17th December 2019, Major League Baseball conducted a training session at Modern School Grounds for classes P3 to S4, with each Session about 30 minutes.  All the students experienced the fun filled game and showed keen interest in taking up the sport in future. We look forward to many accomplished baseball players from The Modern School, Raj Nagar extension.

                The Modern School Raj Nagar Extension brought a larger than life picture to their grounds as they celebrated their Annual Sports Day-7th December' 2019 with their Motto “Fit Children Fit India”, shining through the entire program. The school’s Principal Mrs. Rachna Aggarwal addressed the Gathering and apprised the audience with various Accolades won by the students in the entire year. Mr. Narendra Sharma , An avid Sportsperson, the President Mix netball federation of India, general Secretary U.P. Netball Association, General Secretary Badminton Association Ghaziabad, Joint Secretary U.P. Olympic Association, Secretary District Olympic Association Ghaziabad, Secretary U.P. Indoor Hockey Association, Secretary Ghaziabad handball association is an avid sportsman who also presided the team for commonwealth games 2010 was the chief guest of the show.

                The school also celebrated and commemorated this day as it coincided with the Flag Day i.e. 7th December, saluting all the armed forces, distributing a miniature national flag to all the guests as a gesture of remembering the heroes of our motherland who protect us in the times of war and peace. The curtain came down on the event with the students presenting a spectacular grand finale, dancing and waving their happy hands ending a day full of events and energy.
                The distinguished guests present at the occasion were Shri Ashok Pratap Singh, Chairman School management Committee, Dr. Amit Gupta, Secretary School Management Committee, Mrs. Manju Mehra, Head Mistress Modern School Vasundhara. Mr. Ashok Pratap Singh Enthralled the audience with his inspiring speech.
