‘ International Dance Day ‘ at The Modern School Gzb.
‘Dance is a language that creates a joy in your mind and soul.’
On the occasion of ‘International Dance Day', an Intra-School Dance Competition was organised at The Modern School, Ghaziabad. 17 Finalists contested in the Competition. Mrs Manju Mehra , the School Principal , introduced Ms. Ragini Maharaj, Renowned Kathak dancer and Granddaughter of Pt. Birju Maharaj Ji. Ms. Ragini has performed in various dance dramas choreographed by her grandfather Pt. Birju Maharaj Ji and is well known for her dance moves and expressions.
The programme was taken forward by the MC, Ms. Shubhi.
The participants were divided into 3 categories. Category A- P1 and P2
Category B- P3 and P4
Category C- P5-S2.
Students performed on various songs which were a combination of classical and Western dance forms. The students performed to the best of their potential and mesmerized the audience with their enthusiastic performances.
The position holders were as follows:
From Category A:
First position was bagged by Anshika Jain(P2) and second position was shared by Jagriti(P1), Srishti(P1) and Manasvi(P2).
From Category B:
First position was bagged by Avyan Gupta (P3), second position was bagged by Aadrik De(P3) and Agastya Suhanda(P4) and third position by Sadhya Raghav (P4).
From Category C:
First position was bagged by Hashmita Tyagi(P5), second position by Mishika Gupta (P5) and third position was shared by Samridhhi (P5), Kalash Sharma (S1) and Ayantik De (S2).
Special Mention was given to Chaarvik Tanvar, Darsh Garg and Tapasvi who impressed Ms. Ragini to the best of their extent.
The students were trained by our dance instructor, Ms. Priyanka. The participants were well appreciated by Ms. Ragini.
On special request, a breath taking Kathak dance was also presented by Ms. Ragini who not only with her dance moves but also with her expressions, captivated the heart of audiences.
Ms. Ragini congratulated the winners and appreciated the performance of all the children. Also, she encouraged them to participate more in such competitions to enhance their talents.
