The Modern School, Ghaziabad organized a virtual tour for students of P4 to SS1 to ‘Kiran Nadar Museum of Art’.Children were shown different art works (sculptures, sketches, fabric paintings, edge painting) in the museum and they learned about the history behind that exhibit. Learners enjoyed the tour asking innumerable questions about the things shown.
Students were also taught about why museums are important, who are curators and how are the themes planned. They were also explained about the difference between installation and sculpture. The message portrayed by the art piece and the history of all the art pieces were also explained to the students.
Students were told about different dimensional arts and what makes art pieces special and different from usual drawings.
Students enjoyed the virtual trip through a variety of videos and theme-based presentations. This virtual tour was a new learning for their curious minds.

Students learned about Benode Behari Mukherjee, and his dedication to art - the artist who was visually impaired but could still make art pieces. He was the one who could tell about the colour of the paper just by touching it, giving the message to our students that practice can help them overcome any obstacle and learn what they truly want to achieve.

Online technologies have removed barriers for the learning activities and experiences available to students. During the pandemic, virtual trips become the most interesting way to engage children and explore new places.
