The Modern School, Ghaziabad, organised an English Workshop for the Primary and Senior teachers on 25th September, 2021 from 10:00 am - 11:45 am and from 12:00 pm - 1:40 pm. The Resource person was Ms. Indu Verma, an experienced educationist, one who has imbibed respect from her fellow beings, and has encouraged and empowered people around, believing that each one has something constructive to offer, a people’s person and a strong and ardent believer in ‘Inclusive Education’.
The Workshop aimed at creating a conducive, productive, interactive and enjoyable environment for the teaching and learning of the English language.
The Session for the primary teachers emphasised on the role of a teacher, characteristics of an effective teacher, inducing teaching strategies, questioning techniques and effective classroom management strategies.
The workshop for the senior teachers emphasised on the best ways to reach out to the students, incorporating integrated learning, knowing your subject, using technology in a variety of ways for sharing short video clips are always helpful in catching the attention of the students.
Ms Indu Verma explained how to incorporate mystery into your lessons
and explained elaborately the tools and techniques involved to develop and incorporate different methodologies in the classroom teaching.
Furthermore, the concept of collaborative cooperative learning( jigsaw cooperative learning), Flipped classroom, thinking outside the box and 3-2-1 strategy where in 3 refers to the 3 things the students have learned, 2 refers to the 2 things students thought were interesting, 1 refers to 1 question they still have.
The entire training programme focused on devising different strategies for the improvement of students in all skills. The workshop enlightened and enriched all the staff members in various dimensions related to the teaching & learning of the English language .A brilliantly prepared & presented Workshop to go down memory lane with all the teachers.
